Architectural Design
This component comprises “normal” architectural services. Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation and Construction Administration are the typical phases of this service.
Schematic Design represents the most preliminary elements of the design process. At this point, we synthesize the various programmatic and physical components of the project into a design solution. Sketches and preliminary drawings gradually give three-dimensional form to a construction project that will satisfy the needs defined in the program.
Design Development takes the approved schematic design and refines the architecture based on technical and artistic input from a variety of sources. The initial construction techniques are determined in this phase, and planning for building technologies begins. For larger projects, this phase may be happening concurrently with a potentially lengthy approval process.
Construction Documents represent the final drawings and specifications for the project. These documents provide construction professionals with the information they require to price and construct the project. Various technical drawings produced by Quisenberry Arcari and our consultant team members provide detailed information to the various construction trades. These completed documents are also an integral part of legal agreements between our clients and their contractor. The amount of paper documentation varies greatly for each individual project type, but we are always on call to make sure the project runs smoothly from start to finish.
Construction Administration needs vary greatly from project to project. On the typical residential project, the amount of administration services required is normally quite small. On our municipal or commercial projects, administration is a key component throughout the entire construction phase. This includes dealing with questions or clarifications, shop drawing review, change orders and requests for payment. Quisenberry Arcari has the experience necessary to guide your project to completion.
